My kid has had a letter since U11 AAA, means nothing, it's all about key minutes and not sitting when they drop to 6 forwards and 4 D.

I know parents on our team last season who were complaining, thought their kid had the best shot and should play top minutes, it didn’t happen so they left the team and apparently they do that every year. I feel bad for them

Here is way of thinking of it -

1.do we want the kids with the highest ceiling to go the furthest in hockey ? Should the opportunity not be the same for these kids. Why would you want lesser talented skilled athletes to go far?
2.if you are educated you also know coaches are playing the most mature kids , not necessarily the most talented kids. Why because a less talented mature kid has a huge advantage physically, Vo2 , strength speed and power wise!
3. Kids that watch others play , quit hockey. Also studied and known.

So the big question is , why do we direct our best resources (coaches, time, competition) at many less talented and skilled players that have simply grown early???? You do realize this is why Canada has fallen in the world of hockey!

If this is the case it would mean playing to WIN is really all about the coaches ego not development. Does the game belong to the kids or the coaches ??????


Return the game to the kids it is disgusting!
