Stop the madness.
The AA loop has been water downed more and more these past few years.
62 goals is nothing to brag about for a player when at least 60 of the goals are against soft teams such as TR AA with a ZERO wins column.
Ultimately it’s their own personal choice to make the drop down to A’ level hockey. I’m sure they are good kids and great families as most. So Coach please Stop with all your hyping and excuses because maybe they are just tired of all the toxicity and pressures facilitated playing at a higher level to allow them the ability to focus on “different priorities, having fun playing a game they love.”

Ask around. For someone who pretends to know all things A-AAA, you have a lot of gaps in your knowledge. The kid is still AAA caliber. Stop with the jealousy. 99.9% of these kids all end up in the same place anyways, but to pretend that there’s no difference between kids like this and kids like yours is just sad. Be proud of whatever your kid does and stop trying to put down others. I’m sure your kids better at eating cheeseburgers in the dressing room than these kids. They simply aren’t the same.Guest wrote: ↑Fri May 23, 2025 10:53 amHere we go again… What team ?Guest wrote: ↑Fri May 23, 2025 9:55 amWho said “they have never played a game of AAA hockey”?Guest wrote: ↑Fri May 23, 2025 9:40 amSomeone brings up the game of AAA’ hockey and your response is “these boys” having “multiple spots” but they have never played a game of AAA’ hockey is hilarious.Guest wrote: ↑Thu May 22, 2025 10:19 pmBoth these boys had spots on multiple AAA teams, but have different priorities. Who’s triggered? Here’s your quote, “ Someone brings up the game of AAA’ hockey and your response is “these boys” having “multiple spots” but they have never played a game of AAA’ hockey is hilarious”. You made this statement as if you had some sort of authority on the matter, when clearly you don’t. Just another bender mom who pretends to be in the know, when you’re really just a basic bender mom. This is A hockey. There are no “million dollar questions”. Your delusion about how important your child’s hockey is just reinforces how little you actually know. Over the past seasons, a recurring concern has surfaced among families, players, and even some quiet coaches: the problematic dynamic when parent-coaches consistently place their own children in favorable positions regardless of performance, often to the detriment of team morale and development.
Let’s be blunt—many of these situations involve children who, by most observable standards, struggle to keep up with the pace or skill level of their peers. And yet, they are often given prime ice time, protected from criticism, or even exempt from the accountability expected of others. This creates an unfair playing field, fosters resentment, and sends a damaging message to the rest of the team: merit and effort matter less than personal relationships.
We all understand that hockey is a volunteer-driven sport, and we appreciate the time, energy, and commitment that parent-coaches provide. But with that responsibility comes the need for transparency, fairness, and putting the team’s development first—above individual bias. The goal should always be to nurture all players equally, based on effort, attitude, and skill—not proximity to the coach.
The optics of this issue are hard to ignore, and they undermine the integrity of our sport. We’re not asking for perfection—just fairness. If a player is struggling, let’s coach them up with the same energy we give to any other struggling kid. But let’s also acknowledge when favoritism is affecting the growth of the team and the enjoyment of the game for others.
We respectfully ask the division to consider the following:
Implement anonymous feedback systems where parents and players can safely share concerns about coaching dynamics.
Provide training or guidelines for parent-coaches on how to manage the dual role of coach and parent equitably.
Create oversight or peer-review mechanisms to ensure ice time, positions, and discipline are applied fairly.
Let’s ensure that hockey continues to be a place where hard work, teamwork, and growth are what matter most—and where every player, regardless of whose child they are, has a fair chance to succeed
Championship teams need a real BOSS coach who is in full control over all decisions made.
Re: 2010 GTHL A East
Why they gotta be “SIR” mom? No parent on sir is delusional about their child. They are at the level they should be and having a bit of success lately. Could 1 or 2 play AA? Maybe, but these are kids who for the most part, have played through the tough years and are enjoying the rewards of hard work. Setting up the best tier C beer league team ever! Hopefully they can keep the wa”goon” rolling.Guest wrote: ↑Fri May 23, 2025 12:16 pmWho’s triggered?
