The year of the Snake (Rattlers)
Go Rats Go
This year was the first season AH had full ownership vs just the jr A team. He’s not happy with last place and bringing in new coaching. He’s a legit ohl scout and making calls. Will they finish first, no chance but….If you want tons of ice time, no parent $$ influence, and to play for a ohl scout who also has a jrA team…NYR has it. My kid is on a playoff bound team and we may move but not doing anything until our season is over.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2025 12:43 pmNot as easy as you think. In the draft year you will start to see 2nd line players on top teams move to mid pack/bottom teams to be 1st line for more ice time. To move from AA to AAA in the draft year as a defense you need to be 6ft 175lbs already with a plus/minus of 20. And as a forward would need at least 40 goals in season already. As a goalie even harder unless you can settle for the backup.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2025 9:58 am Heard TRW and NYR aaa looking to both rebuild under new coaching next year. Is there any benefit to go to a losing aaa team from a top AA team for one year?
this reads like a paid promo for nyrGuest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2025 6:43 pmThis year was the first season AH had full ownership vs just the jr A team. It’s copy and pasted in the SCTA west chat. I think it’s a promo.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2025 9:10 pmthis reads like a paid promo for nyrGuest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2025 6:43 pmThis year was the first season AH had full ownership vs just the jr A team. Maybe view at years end to get a better idea after the full body of work is over. Even today the rankings have changed quite a bit over last week.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2025 1:13 pm Interesting when comparing the provincial rank of teams this year vs last year. What's everyone thoughts on whether is coaching or players which caused the the better/worse?
Improved Teams:
Beast - ranked 8 vs 74 last year
Jets - ranked 37 vs 53 last year
Terriers - ranked 24 vs 30 last year
Sharks - ranked 70 vs 75 last year
Eagles - ranked 3 vs 6 last year
West Mall - ranked 76 vs 79 last year
No change:
Rangers - ranked 1 vs 1 last year
Wolverines - ranked 57 vs 57 last year
Rattlers - ranked 18 vs 17 last year
Train wrecks:
Streetsville - ranked 87 vs 78 last year
Northstars - ranked 26 vs 15 last year
Caps - ranked 59 vs 40 last year
Toros - ranked 63 vs 35 last year
Panthers - ranked 91 vs 21 last year
Fair.....Wolverines had some good movement this week and in the improved category. Should definitely look at this before playoffs. Good indication of teams track record and a report card on the coaches before considering teams for next year.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 1:07 pmMaybe view at years end to get a better idea after the full body of work is over. NS are hardly worth train wreck status. They lost some strong players and they have done well with what they have.
He does, who knows what player turnover will be but coaching they'll be fine. Heard a couple of strong coaches coming into the division next year. MNS and Toros.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 2:13 pmFair.....Wolverines had some good movement this week and in the improved category. Should definitely look at this before playoffs. NS have done well with what they were able to replace with existing coach for now. I can't see them get any better next year, big shoes to fill on the coaching front. Does the new guy have the track record?
Then MNS should be fine. But if he's coached a few seasons and never made a playoff or better yet was in the bottom 5, then player turnover will be huge and expect to be the next Panthers next seasonGuest wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 2:21 pmHe does, who knows what player turnover will be but coaching they'll be fine. I'd say to those parents, I just mean in general not MNS when a new coach comes in...ask the right questions and do your research before jumping ship. Always see people leave teams where they probably should have stayed and it would have better for all.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 2:41 pmThen MNS should be fine.
