Impre$$ive!

Re: 2009 GTHL AAA
Congratulations to everyone in the AA loop. Clearly, there were scouts from the O watching at the U16 AA level, and they were so impressed with one player in the league that they passed on dozens of AAA players for one from AA. This has broken barriers, and I’m proud of the VP organization.

Okay Dad. In your eyes only…he’s in double A for a reason.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Apr 12, 2025 2:50 pmNot sure if everyone else’s phones are broken or what? This kid was eating pizza in the parking lot before practices like a year ago and now he’s hearing his name on draft day? Unreal.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Apr 12, 2025 1:51 pmAnd don’t come on here and say your kid “skipped” this draft year by choice. He didn’t make aaa for a reason, wasn’t skipped, he didn’t make it. There’s a difference.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Apr 12, 2025 1:33 pm Before you all start scratching your heads about the questionable draft picks, just know that the last few rounds are all friends, family and MONEY!! It’s well known, been like this for years
Y’all been gassing up your academy kids for YEARS, and meanwhile this absolute beauty from the local AA loop just pulled the biggest uno reverse on all your AAA politics.
Kid’s edgework looks like he’s skating on clouds, shot is a laser, and he plays with more heart than half the AAA GTHL kids combined. Guess it turns out you don’t need $15k a year, private school, four private skills coaches when you’ve got raw DOG in your game.
Some of your kids were busy playing Fortnite while this guy was out there toe-dragging defenders into early retirement on City owned ice.
But nah, keep sleeping. Just don’t act surprised when he’s lighting it up in the O, then NCAA while your “D1-committed” kid is on a beer league roster in ASHL.

Ummm. No he can’t. Wasn’t close to dominating in AA. Triple AAA is a much faster, smarter game. Buy $$ never hurt. And some satisfied ones too.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Apr 12, 2025 6:11 pm A lot of disappointed players and dads today. Time to move on, folks.
There were many surprises in the draft. Some kids went way higher than expected, some way lower, and some were over-looked.
A lot of kids that would have been drafted had the NCAA eligibility rules not changed weren't drafted this time because a lot of spots went to US kids that wouldn't have been part of the equation before. For the same reason, a lot of kids to who were drafted went lower than they would have before. There's a lot more competition for spots now, so it's harder to get drafted. The bar has been raised.
Congratulations to everyone who was drafted! The round doesn't matter. Camp matters. Keep pushing and don't pay attention to haters.
If you didn't get drafted, keep pushing for the U18 draft. U18 will be good hockey this year, and development time is far from over. A bump in the road is not a brick wall.

Never played AAA. Doesn’t matter how good you are…going from AA pace straight to an OHL camp? Won’t be easyGuest wrote: ↑Sat Apr 12, 2025 6:26 pmUmmm. No he can’t. Wasn’t close to dominating in AA. My kid skipped his draft year and is looking to play triple next year. Anyone know any teams looking for a player?
