Fake news its happening and it will be for next season. Only the OHF has to pass this and they already have in principle. Its just how deep and how far they go is what is on the table. Just open it all up, just at AAA, just U12 and above, thats all the discussions, but its happening is some form.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2024 12:54 am Can't do it for next season because it probably needs a vote to pass at AGM. It will get voted down like it always does and nothing will change.
Not having it for 25\26 season is a mistake, force it in and let tryouts run their course, then let them decide how to vote based on their teams already been made. They did this a couple years ago lowering the NRP counts. That was a holy WTF moment if I ever saw one. You live in a D center, yup your Not allowed you can play AAA or D and NEVER anything else. Like who thinks this shit up.
Excluding U7-U9MD is so stupid as is the fact there is actually like 3 U9MD tier levels. Just bring AAA (or at least A) back to U9 and let kids have open borders. None of this NRP only at U12 dumb shit and stuck pointlessly in a D center for years. They are already moving back to full ice all year for U9MD (Tier 1*)

Maybe not if you’re an import? I believe they have 4 import spotsGuest wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2024 6:13 pm Assuming G border still in effect? Will still Need to have Toronto address to play there?
Re: Open borders coming in Ontario
Would be great if this happens. We'd like to go to QRD. But KG won't ever give us a release. Our older son left Gales when they opened borders coming out of the pandemic. Was great for his development. OHL came calling.
Re: Open borders coming in Ontario
The OHF has no control over residential boundaries, it is a decision made by the individual leagues. I have no idea what the GTHL may be planning, but I can all but guarantee that OMHA will not be eliminating residential boundaries this coming season. They are currently doing everything they can to level the playing field and have as equal competition as they can and removing boundaries would go against everything they have been working on for the past number of years. Just my opinion.

So they’re happy to continue being the GTHL’s cuck boy? Not one OMHA team can compete!Guest wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 9:47 pm The OHF has no control over residential boundaries, it is a decision made by the individual leagues. Re: Open borders coming in Ontario
It's not about teams compete levels and balanced leagues, it's about kids and families playing where it makes sense for them and spending their money where it makes sense. OMHA produces high calibre players, but they got lost in the system by being stuck in random organizations with no legitimate way to get out.
