I really think there are four types of parents when it comes to the Brick. Can you name them?Guest wrote: ↑Mon Jun 23, 2025 5:47 pmIt is going to be a great week in Toronto when the psycho parents are out of town. What matters is whether or not your kid is a good person, takes accountability for their actions, and well-rounded with sports, music, languages and academics. Enjoy the tournament, truly.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Jun 23, 2025 2:36 pmWe are talking about the Brick. The Brick ! People are choosing a week at Muskoka or a trip to Europe over the Brick ? Nuts! You can’t be serious. You have a chance to be apart of the Best and you pass ? Best players, Best people, Best competition, Best growth potential for your kid! To be the Best you need to be around and beat the Best. Parents don’t get it.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Jun 23, 2025 12:20 pmWhy do Brick parents feel like they need to justify their life decisions by trying to convince everyone that $20k "investment" was a good idea? You are absolutely nuts. And your kid will get the taste smacked out of his mouth by a 6 foot 200 lb 14 year old who’s currently playing football in the summer while you freeze your ass in Edmonton. But hey you can watch that smack down in your well worn Brick jacket so it’s not all bad news.

You don’t know that. At this point the only thing we know for sure is your kid just ain’t good enough. Enjoy your rented double wide trailer on whatever leech infested man made lake people like you go to. If you get reception you can watch the brick kids on tv.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Jun 23, 2025 9:47 pmShe isn’t. Brick Vocal Dad - His world revolves on the Brick. Rinks, Skates, Skills Sessions, AAA, All Season Hockey, Talking Brick to Non Brick Parents, Shooting Basement Pucks, Sucking up to coaches, is his world. If there is a minute of ice time for his kid to get in a week, spend four hour turnaround to seize it.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Jun 23, 2025 8:18 pmI really think there are four types of parents when it comes to the Brick. Brick Introvert Dad - Kid needs to be the best and will buy my way onto a team, even if kid doesn't have the skill. Low profile but will run you over if it means his kid can get on a Brick Team.
Play the System Dad - My kid is good enough. If he makes it great, if not, no big deal. The road to high level hockey may or may not involve the Brick .. if it does, will be there.
Stand in the Corner Dad - Really would rather be in Europe, cottage, outside, fishing than a ice rink in June/July. However, my son is so goddamn talented at this age, he makes these teams without me really want it to happen.
Am I close?

Ask your kid where Michael Jordan played basketball at 12. Not 9 or 10. 12.
Re: 2015 AAA
When the Detroit kids beat both Toronto teams like they're playing a Tier 2 select tournament that will be really good to watch on the telly. At the cottage.
Re: 2015 AAA
Boston will also pound them. Mostly because they pick the best kids and haven’t made it 100% business…Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 12:48 pm When the Detroit kids beat both Toronto teams like they're playing a Tier 2 select tournament that will be really good to watch on the telly. At the cottage.

It is better to have played and lost than not to have played at all.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 12:48 pm When the Detroit kids beat both Toronto teams like they're playing a Tier 2 select tournament that will be really good to watch on the telly. At the cottage.
Re: 2015 AAA
If they wanted to do it properly. One team from GTHL AAA. Tryouts throughout season with a final camp in April. Third party coaches, no parent coaches. Paid by GTHL. just put out 14 best players and 2 goalies. this is for u 10 GTHL as a special team.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 2:37 pmBoston will also pound them. With no affiliation to AAA teams.
My God some of the parents on TBD need to get off their knees this is embarrassing.
