Yes 13th pick to Saginaw. What a that? If he hasn’t figured out how to put up points in gthl (20 points in 2 years) he’s all of a sudden going to be productive.

Now you’re talking, bro! Those are the connections you NEED. If scouts haven’t noticed your kid by now, I’d suggest NOT holding your breath that they are going to come knocking. People are setting their kids up for disappointment.
AA 10th forward on NYR got drafted.
Impre$$ive!
With 0 points for the season
Drafted by the team where his NYR coach scouts
And OG 14th round pick from Sens…small, 4pts in 31 games.
Such a waste.
I get it money pick.
So embarrassing for OHL and player.

A real embarrassment for the OHL, and more so, a real embarrassment for the organization that made the pick. The player referenced in the comment above, was the 10th forward on a last place team in the GTHL.

The same can be said with the 10th forward that was drafted from the North York Rangers, whose father recently purchased 50% of the North York Rangers OJHL team. If you connect the dots on this one….. you’ll know why this player was drafted to the Niagara dogs of the OHL.
If you think that was a bad $ pick you shoulda seen Niagara in round 13 taking an 2008 with 3 points in 55 games in the OJ. Multiple $$$$$$$ picks by the Ice Dogs

A beautiful poem to summarize this season.

2009 AA Player Gets Selected over Dozens of AAA players

He laced ’em up at crack of dawn
While others yawned, he skated on
No prep school name, no sponsor bag
Just busted wheels and hand-me-down swag

Double A, yeah that’s the tier
Where dreams go die? Not over here
He toe-dragged kids into the dust
Snapped twigs, broke ankles, left ’em crushed

The scouts said nah, he said bet
They watched one shift, now they regret
He made that draft board eat its words
While coaches whispered he’s absurd

Now he’s OHL, prime-time ice
Still taping sticks and paying price
From loser rooms to locker fame
The AA kid just changed the game

And listen up, I’ll spit one truth
He wasn’t even best in the youth
The real one chopped like deli meat
Weiner should’ve had that draft seat

Isn't this the same guy that purchased a Porsche for the coach to get his kid a spot on the Nats in the prior season (major bantam season)?

Very Nice! but completely irrelevant.
There are at least 500 AAA players that are currently better on every faucet of the game with a much higher trajectory for the next level then the AA player that was drafted. There are at least another 500 AA players that are currently better with a higher trajectory for the next level. This pick was a mockery of the draft.

You want a dark horse, pick from AA in the last round. Probably way better from the left overs in AAA.
You want cash, pick from AAA. Simple

All the dots are being connected. Last few rounds are a complete mockery of what the OHL stands for. It is always bad every year but this year was next level embarrassing. Hockey Canada wonders why we have lost dominance in this sport. Just sick who was selected............
