Guest wrote: Wed Feb 12, 2025 11:51 am Right now, the main intrigue is who will win the regular season, who will finish in 6th place, and what will happen in the playoffs. My prediction: MNS will hold onto the top spot, ST will drop to 7th, and 6th place will go to either DD or, more likely, TW.

In the playoffs, only MNS, VP, VR, and MB have a realistic shot at the title. My bet is on either MB or VR—provided they stay out of unnecessary penalty trouble.
FT is better than VR.
It'll be interesting to watch, but right now, FT looks like the weakest of the top five teams. VP isn't focused on winning games—they prioritize development, which is great in the long run but likely boring for kids who train skills without proper game application. VR, on the other hand, has shown solid improvement throughout the season. They rely more on speed and emotion—a true team of fighters.

In contrast, MB and MNS are more balanced. They’ve provided strong development while remaining result-oriented, backed by excellent coaching and MB also have solid goalie or even a pair of goalies.

Moving forward, the biggest challenge for MNS and MB is the limited talent pool in Mississauga. Vaughan and North York serve as the heart of minor hockey in Canada, with a strong pipeline from York Region. Out west, Oakville and Burlington remain hockey powerhouses, while participation in Mississauga and Brampton continues to decline. Without their current coaches, Applewood kids would likely be somewhere much lower, but the MNS staff has done an outstanding job. The Beast face a similar, though slightly better, situation.
MB and MNS must either recruit new talent from somewhere or find ways to maximize player development over the summer, because both VR and VP will get some good kids from OMHA and those who left AAA.
Wow VR parent…

VP has beaten VR 3x by a combined score of 13-3, of which only one game was close.

MNS has beaten VR 3x by a combined score of 15-4, of which only one game was close.

Byt this is all because those teams care more about winning than VR which is out there developing kids as the only goal.

Nevermind the talent pool in Mississauga what’s in the water north of the 7?
If they aren’t focused on winning up in Vaughan maybe somebody should tell the parent group that!!

The only time I set foot in Vaughan is when I’m going to Wonderland.
Oh ya- that dirt whole of a city Mississauga you call home is much better then Vaughan. But you probably feel right at home at Wonderland, dont ya?

lol- all that counts is the last month or so. Look at VRs performance and look at VP. One is improving one is declining. Your addition skills are great however games months back mean absolutely nothing today. Keep trying.
The best record in the last month belongs to MNS.

For those wondering, VR is just salty because most of them tried to get on VP and couldn’t.

Yeah I am not buying into the idea of MNS as “Cinderella.” They were co-frontrunners with VP for much of the year and had the best forward and two of the best D in the loop. That’s hardly a Cinderella story. There are some potential Cinderella teams lower in the standings but their story has yet to be written.
It isn’t, this team is not applewood from last year. They had a handful from that team and hats off to that coaching staff because they did a great job filling out the rest of the team
Exactly, the Beast were in same boat mostly Lorne Park kids but brought in some kids from elsewhere.
Didnt they end up with a bunch of Port Credit kids who were the on the best U9 team and some could have made AAA. I have to admit I don't actually know where the rest of MSN came from.
None of the kids came from Port Credit, most of them ended up with the Rebels and a few went to the Beast.

That’s incorrect.

The saltyness remains with the VP who wanted to be the VR but the club denied them the team. So off they went to form the panthers.

Why did the club deny them a team? They were actually quite good last year as Vaughan White in NYHL

Ewww..who would want to associate with anyone from Vaughan? I mean if you’re new to the country I guess it looks like paradise but it’s not that great for the rest of us civilized people.

Mixing up Vaughan and Mississauga? Pretty sure the latter is where all the immigrants go.

And considering both 2015 Vaughan teams are up there in the standings, the comment about how good they are is pretty stupid. Both teams solid, who cares why Rangers choose the current team staff over VP staff. However looks like they may have choose correctly considering one is pretty much the same as the beginning of season and the other has developed the kids and team and has gotten stronger.

Dude thinks that people from Vaughn aren’t immigrants just because they’re lighter skinned.
