It isn’t, this team is not applewood from last year. 2015 AA

Re: 2015 AA
What’s happening to VP? It’s not just a bad finish to the regular season but they went 0-4 in the silverstick last month and haven’t looked good at all since.
Re: 2015 AA
Exactly, the Beast were in same boat mostly Lorne Park kids but brought in some kids from elsewhere.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 10:39 pmIt isn’t, this team is not applewood from last year. Not just for recruiting, but developing the Applewood kids. We played them a lot last year and he took more than a handful, 7 by my count so thats nearly half the team. Whatever development they were missing last year they got this year.
I don't think any one of us here would have predicted them finishing first, maybe not even them.
Re: 2015 AA
Didnt they end up with a bunch of Port Credit kids who were the on the best U9 team and some could have made AAA. I have to admit I don't actually know where the rest of MSN came from.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 7:46 amExactly, the Beast were in same boat mostly Lorne Park kids but brought in some kids from elsewhere.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 10:39 pmIt isn’t, this team is not applewood from last year. Re: 2015 AA
Underrated comment.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2025 3:55 pmMy advice would be to not just look at the top teams but look at the teams that have improved significantly in the last half of season. That is a sign of good coaching that often goes unnoticed. Teams at the top might be tough to crack and if the coach had great players to begin with, I would question how much developing those kids did during the year. It’s not all about record at this age level. It’s more about developing.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2025 2:53 pm If we think we can make a move from A to AA in the west, what team should we target? Kid is a D (R). Would the top teams laugh at us? Like VP or NS or FT? I dont see much of a point in going from good A to Jets or Teriers.
Both Duffield and the Terriers in the west show more signs of life at the end of the season than the start. I know they are not the "top" teams but if you're coming from U10 A they would be good landing places.

They lack scoring up front.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 7:39 am What’s happening to VP? It’s not just a bad finish to the regular season but they went 0-4 in the silverstick last month and haven’t looked good at all since.
Their D has held up.
Weird vibes on that team, everyone thinks they're AAA ready.

The Beast is the best team if you look at games against other top teams.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 7:46 amExactly, the Beast were in same boat mostly Lorne Park kids but brought in some kids from elsewhere.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 10:39 pmIt isn’t, this team is not applewood from last year. They have had the most success against MNS, VP, FT than the other three have against each other.
Thats whats telling, not who lost once to some bottom team.

Correction: FT beat The Beast all three times they played them during the regular season. But otherwise I agree that The Beast are a good team that has had a great second half to the season.

I'm surprised MB and FT are not 1 and 2.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 10:17 amGuest wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 10:09 amThe Beast is the best team if you look at games against other top teams.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 7:46 amExactly, the Beast were in same boat mostly Lorne Park kids but brought in some kids from elsewhere.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 10:39 pmIt isn’t, this team is not applewood from last year.
