There is the issue with kids sports nowadays. They all want to train year round. Hockey, soccer and baseball rep teams train most if not all off season. It used to be you played other sports to work other muscle groups and not get tired of playing a sport all year long. But coaches from the different sports want to go all year in the sport they coach.
Thats still better than having your kid on the ice every day, 25 hours a week. Some looney toon parents do that so little Johnny can go to NHL.
If the kids are having fun, who cares? Literally every NHL player talks about how much hockey they played. So, which is it? When are people always knocking on kids' dreams of going to the NHL? Who cares if none of them? Are you so bitter about your own life that you need your 9-year-old to have realistic goals? How resentful are you? My kid thinks he's going to the NHL. Awesome. I will support the effort he wants to put into training. Will he make it? How would I know. He's 9. But better him being glued to a screen playing video games.

Your job as a parent is to do what makes sense for your kid for their development, growth as a person, school success, alot of things all of which make a well rounded kid set up for success. Pushing the kid from one grifting skills coach to the next three times a day seven days a week isnt doing right by the kid. How is he suppose to love the sport in 5 years when he isnt getting a minute to really appreciate it.

Sure bud the alternative is to stare at a screen, sorry to tell you some kids do other sports, play piano, martial arts or math/coding whatever else there is. Dumb AF.

1. Beast (AAA caliber Port Credit kids, good LP kids)
2. Vaughan Rangers (physical, good chemistry, trouncing other teams)
3. Streetsville Tigers (need to gel better but have standouts)
4. Vaughan Panthers (could fall as low as 6-7 if they don't get Goalie situation sorted)
5. Faustina Toros (quietly getting ready to win)
6. HV Sharks (haven't looked great but strong organization and a couple of standout forwards)
7. Toronto Eagles (they should be better than thi
8. West Mall (good team, good coaching, but no standouts)
9. Duffield Devils (those kids played with a lot of strong kids that went to TYN)
10. Toronto Wolverines (nobody has heard a thing about them, doesn't sound good)
11. Mississauga North Stars (unless paid coaches can pull of Hail Mary, Applewood kids are DOA)
12. Mississauga Jets (the kids HV didn't want, have to be better than the Applewood kids #11 didn't want)
13. Mississauga Terriers (bottom half of Applewood, enough said)

Maybe the kid want to be on the ice that much. Maybe the kid would rather be on the ice rather then do anything else. But yeah keep blaming the parents because little Johnny enjoys hockey more then your little no names and it shows come game day. Don't worry though, Little Johnny will "burn out" before little no names. Hahhahaha.

I bet you force your kid to the rink and he doesn't even like hockey. Go code nerd.

The point being made was that coaches are putting too much emphasis on every sport. Sports used to have their “season” for kids to play now some coaches demand it year round was the point. If your kid only plays/likes hockey have him play year round but other kids who are good all round athletes are being cheated by overbearing coaches who could give a Not Allowed about other sports.

VP parents panicking in the stands is beautiful to watch. Starring down the barrel of a second consecutive shutout loss. Beast are all over them. VP have no sustained pressure or offensive puck movement. 2-0 midway through the 2nd
