They and Windsor are not doing this ‘tryout’. They’re running as usual vs doing an organizational fundraiser from the lack of u10-u16 players that’ll show up due to open borders. The 09 group really gets the screw this year between the USOHL and U18 spring tryouts before jr camps.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Apr 15, 2025 7:34 am Why has u18 Sarnia Junior Sting have not posted tryout time?
2009 Alliance
Re: 2009 Alliance
Re: 2009 Alliance
Looking at the draft list. Cpl good picks from the alliance.
Couple surprises to mes
Only one goalie taken. He was the top goalie in the league so it made sense but u thought 1-2 more would have been taken.
Good pick grabbing Hayes from Windsor
SHOCKED is an understatement seeing 7 go before 16 from Elgin
Equally shocked seeing 7,6,88 D men from HPL go at all , more so 6,88
Surprised not to see Logan Y from Kitchener not drafted. He’s good enough when you factor in many other picks that went.
Balcar from London not being drafted is also a bit of a surprise when you see some horrible D men go
The little fella from HPL who had been telling people he was going didn’t go. No surprise, ego bursted
17 London, thought he would maybe go as well.
Maine from SCP , how much was paid?
My thoughts anyways

Re: 2009 Alliance
Good thoughts, agree on most. LY (KIT), JB/BT (LJK) not getting drafted and seeing players like CL (SAR) and GK (EMC) get picked is actually laughable. Neither of those two will sniff an OHL roster. Maine from SCP is a decent player, far better D than GK.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 7:17 am Looking at the draft list. Cpl good picks from the alliance.

Congrats to the Alliance kids that deserved it. To the parents of the kids that were selected based on family contacts you should understand everyone knows, the kids know and it’s laughable. It’s exactly what’s wrong with hockey.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 8:00 amGood thoughts, agree on most. Ya the parents and grandparent helping your kid picked only puts a target on the kids back and the Whispers and laughs start. Should be ashamedGuest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 8:46 amCongrats to the Alliance kids that deserved it. Re: 2009 Alliance
Everyone who got picked on day 2 had some degree of help. After r5 it gets very political and your agent/advisor plays a huge roll. So unless you went top 5 i wouldn’t get too excited.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 8:46 amCongrats to the Alliance kids that deserved it. U16 draft should be 7 rds
U18 draft should be 5 rounds
Everyone else is a free agent
