Hamilton Steel
Re: Hamilton Steel
From an outside perspective of someone who came across this thread. This makes me not want my kids to play hockey, which is crazy to say because I love hockey. It's sick that parents are cyberbullying other parents and kids.

I bet there is about a 0% chance of that because cyber bullies are the worst kind. That have no guts in person to say something to someone as grown-up in person but get really bold and tough behind a keyboard.
And the funny thing is the person or people saying toxicity is gone are the same ones cyberbullying others...I'd be very careful about joining a team like this. I have no interest in what happens either way ...although someone will say it's just people leaving or cast offs
Not the case, I have no kids this age or involved with this organization.
I'll leave this here as I am disgusted with what I have read
These parents need to take a long look in the mirror as you don't want your kids turning into you. Make a change for the better and keep it fun for the kids. Your kid will either be good enough or not. Leave the jealousy at the door and be a good person... probably too late for some of you, but not the kids hopefully.

Re: Hamilton Steel
Well said. This team will always eat itself because these gem parents push their kids to be standalone stars. Selfish plays and talking smack about teammates after every game? Yup. That’s the recipe for a great team - no?! If you haven’t run already. Run now - this will always be a revolving door of mini-Gretzkys, bring in the next shiny piece- then the next, then the next ——- that burns out quickly, not to mention THE MENTAL HEALTH of these kids?! Anybody care about that ?

I am a heavily involved volunteer parent coach within an association and your first line rings so true. There are so many times I wish my kid didn't like hockey so we weren't involved. I love coaching and love see to him excel but it can be too much at times.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 10, 2025 9:51 am From an outside perspective of someone who came across this thread. Even at the lowest levels of hockey, the politics and fighting is rampant. Everyone from executive, to coaches, to trainers, to parents and even kids lose the perspective that hockey is supposed to be fun, an escape from the realities of work and school, with a little bit of exercise. Adults have ruined minor hockey with their egos and desire to win at all costs.
Minor hockey has a major problem in Canada that needs some serious changes.

Yeah it's sad really. Like look at the next comments. Someone probably jealous of a kid (pathetic a parent) . Posting trash about people's personal lives maybe because his kid can't make it.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 10, 2025 2:09 pmI am a heavily involved volunteer parent coach within an association and your first line rings so true. You're definitely correct about minor hockey in Canada and it will be the reason other countries catch up and take over.
There should also be no site like this allowed to operate with people not having to show names because it leads to these terrible people not having consequences for what they say.
I have a couple of decent guesses who some are.
But why not stand up and own your comments.

I find this hard to believe I haven't seen anybody at our games. Who is coming to watch in secret????????? You sound paranoid.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 10, 2025 7:34 amThe former bulldogs do! Post like this one does not point out any particular person and there is no reason to keep reporting it
