Well, based on the fakt that you posted this stupid 'news' on this board anonymously they should be happy I'd say....
What a dumb question. Who cares? If you've just been invited to AAA, expect your kid to play minimal minutes. Most teams were set in Jan. Have fun being a duster.
You never got a call back, still hurt? Call William Mattar.

Being a duster in AAA can still result in coming back next year and be top kid in AA.
Are you dumb? You’d pay $10k for 3 mins of ice time next year so your kid can come back to AA? No wonder the AAA coach invited you lol
I have confidence in my kid that he won't only get 3 minutes of ice time. And I'm willing to try it for $10k. I understand that you're scared and comfortable where you are and that's OK.
I wish you the best then.

Hopefully they can improve. Here’s what I would do.

1. Focus on skating - if skating can improve it will lead to being competitive in many games
2. Try to partner with other teams in the organization to get extra ice time. Can you get 2 hour of ice time vs just one?
3. For open spots recruit best kids from A. Promise them immediate playing time and a chance to earn a leadership role on the team.

Ted Reeve 2015 AA thoughts?

Post by DCIN6ix »

Hey,
My husband has committed our son to move to Ted Reeve next year. I don't think he talked to enough people. I got a bad vibe from the HC. Anyone have any insight? Good team? I know they didn't have a lot of wins this year but HC claims they'll have a much better team next year. I just want a good coach who can help my kid develop after a stagnate season.

Their whole team needs to be replaced. Why would any parent put their kid through another year like the last one.

There is no way you can bring that team to a competitive level. I assume other stronger teams are all planning to play through spring hockey and continue to train. As I know my kids is. Yes some of the jets kids may start to catch up but not most. They’re doomed if they stay AA

Don’t fully agree with this. There is a path towards improvement. It is not always easy and requires time on the ice. A couple years back my son was one of the bottom players on the house league team. Now he is a very good AA player generating some interest from AAA teams. His path shows it is possible to improve significantly over time. The path for a team is a bit more complicated because everyone needs to be very committed towards improving.

A few thoughts on TR. The biggest pro is that the kids and families are great. The arena has a really nice community feel. If you are looking for development for your kid you will not find it here. The HC cannot run a hockey practice which means the players aren't well prepared for games and don't play as a team. The fees are super high because they have to bring in other coaches to run practices which are good development sessions but focus more on individual skills then team building. You need both elements to be successful. The HC can be very critical of the kids and spends more time yelling at them then actually explaining and coaching. There is little to no emphasis on passing, proper positioning, breaks outs and implementing offensive plays. There is this weird fixation around players achieving "results" with not enough support and coaching to the players to help them produce these "results". It seems like for next year they're trying to bring in new players which may help make them be better but with the current coaching it won't fix the lack of focus on team development.
