Who is making the playoffs? This has been a fun year to watch, the mid pack fight has been great to see. Still not clear who is going to make playoffs. Redwings have a tough stretch, Sens and Nats have a lot of ground to cover, TT on a knifes edge. It will be an interesting finish.
TT is going to fall off a cliff, Nats will win more than they lose moving forward despite their D problems. RedWings only have one line so it depends on how they perform but not much depth at all to help and I suspect the Sens will surprise some teams despite not being able to score much. Overall I think all those teams lose 6 players each and some of their best players go to top teams next year.
That means kids from top teams leave to open up spots. This helps with balancing the team talent across the board.
Leave..? you mean get cut..
50/50 some do leave top teams like JRC kid
Most people that leave top teams are

parent cuts
bad attitude kid
or they think their 2nd/3rd line skill kid is a first liner

If that is true, look at the four teams above them in the standings; they must suck as well. They only have a couple more wins or ties more, not a big gap there. Curious where all you dummies think the good players are exactly? Top two teams have some talent the rest is spread out throughout the league that the talent pool it's not overly deep.
5 wins in 19 games means your team needs a complete rebuild whether you want to believe it or not
As long as 7 and 65 are there the sens will be just fine

7 can hardly skate lol

Real hockey starts next year so even the top teams reconsider the objectives and who can help them implement them best.

The best players will still remain the best players. The "support" players on the top teams will be put to the test.

there are only about 5-7 players on those teams that are going to be effective in big boy hockey, the rest are interchangeable with any top 3 players on midpack.

The rest will get frustrated by new recruits taking their ice time, they will shuffle around to mid pack teams and go undrafted in 3 years. There will be a bunch of hidden gems that come out of no where and a bunch of has beens crying about how coach screwed them, deflecting that their kid is not actually as special as he once was.

There is SO MUCH time

its going to be a kick to the face of reality for many families that are
