How about schools that are in Toronto- not Aurora or another GTA suburb. Any opinions on Blyth Academy? UCC is out of most people's price ranges, especially when you're also paying your kid(s) hockey league fees and doing spring hockey/other sports.

I also saw a poster recently at my local rink about a new downtown hockey school, doesn't seem to be running yet but perhaps will be for fall. Anyone looked into this?

Ok so it's a risk because it's untested but this one opening next year actually like pretty good? Anyone know anything about the guy running it?

Does anyone have kids at/know anyone who has kids at The Hill Academy? Any opinions on this place? Price seems very decent for a private school, although it's so far outside the city for downtown/midtown kids...

Hockey team is a joke, so perfect for your kid.

Look into Everest, cheapest school, they have lower fees because the entire school is just in a hockey arena, not like an actual established school like St. No names’s, UCC or St. Andrew’s. Your kid won’t get the highest quality education but they will push him through, small classes, good alternative if your kid is a slower learner and wants to play hockey.

Go to a normal school and save your money. If you're cash rich, SAC or UCC all day.

Most academies are nothing but a cash grab and an excuse for your kid to not get properly educated for life when they dont make it to the show.

Everest is the worst place to send your kid! Your kid isn’t making the show and he won’t get prepared for university there so you just wasted your money!

These schools are a joke. No one respects them or takes them seriously, the smart kids go to a reputable school, these ones like The Hill and Everest are filled with kids with learning difficulties and ADHD

Delusional parents think these schools will open doors for their kid to make the NHL. Kinda sad.

Those schools tell parents what they want to hear. It’s all about money. Remember they are a business first and foremost. Feed into your hopes and desires and you write the cheque. I feel bad for some of these folks but if you’re that naive then I think you deserve it.
