Most kids left for Klevr. Should have done the same.
I’ve seen a lot of Oakville, Niagara and Burlington and each have 6-8 kids in Klvr that will push for spots in April. Despite that, both MD teams are solid enough and can compete with most Klvr teams. Each have a sprinkling of players that are certainly AAA calibre.

For those MD teams that have been playing 5on5, Klvr has allowed for more kids to get good reps which will create a greater pool of kids to pick from at AAA next spring. Challenge will be ensuring they all return to their centres but that’s a different issue.

The 3 I mentioned will all have good OMHA teams.
Kids who went to KSL might just stay in the G rather than coming back to OMHA. Atleast the better ones..

Yup. The best kids will play in the G initially.

No they won't, stop giving these parents such high hopes. VERY FEW of the kids in OMHA territory will be going to the G. Its just not feasible for most. MOST people will not travel 1.5hrs on a Thursday after school to get their kid to practice.

Not everyone can afford private school either to make the bare requirements for it.

Some of the KSL teams that border the city of Toronto might have a few kids who live in GTHL territory. But, teams like Young Kings, Junior Wings, Durham Mustangs, EOYK (and their many variations), Purple Cobras, Northern Saints, Muskoka, etc will all end up in OMHA territory as almost whole teams or at the very least the majority of kids.

Quinty, Peterborough, COW, AP, NorthShore, Whitby. YSE, Orillia, Barrie Colts.... will all be 90%+ KSL kids.

plus kids from Kawartha Cunucks, Clarington Redwings, Simcoe Ghost pirates, Bowmanville Bears, etc who have WAY more talent than any MD team has right now.

Aim for "AA" their might be 4 or 5 spots left for kids there when the T2 kids from KSL don't make AAA teams.

What's the difference between Exhibition games and regular season games at this age? Do they keep score yet?

It’s a little complicated but at U9MD-1 the exhibition games have begun and they are keeping score. There are also piles and piles of birthday skate games that have gone on for a few months now. The MD-1 official full ice season begins this upcoming weekend.

Yes. I think about a dozen teams are doing it. The rest will start Jan 15. Out west Oakville, Burlington and Niagara look ahead of the curve.
