Parents who are obsessed with hockey
I've noticed some parents seem to be on a mission for their kids to be 'the best'. At the moment their kids are not the best, but mom and dad seem to think the are. These kids attend skills sessions all over the place in the summer several times a week, practices and are in a different tournament (could be in Canada or US) every weekend. No other sports or activities - just hockey. No family vacations. Is this normal? Kids are 10. How could parents think this is a good idea? I'm not sure if the hope is a scholarship or the NHL...but clearly there must be some type of goal in mind.
I know we are told to mind our own business but it's hard not to at times when things like this are all over social media and you see it happening.

It's really not that hard to mind your own business.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2024 10:35 am I've noticed some parents seem to be on a mission for their kids to be 'the best'. Absolutely. If a kid was good at chess and played everyday would you care enough to go on a forum and troll parents and kids?Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2024 10:52 am So we should just ignore idiots like this?
Absolutely mind your own business.

Chess is different. You can literally just sit at your own house and play chess...I'd love it if my kid played chess!

With all the things discussed on this forum...people need to mind their business when it comes to this? Wow. Nah.

Great argument.... the whole 'everyone else is doing it so why shouldn't i'Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2024 11:02 am With all the things discussed on this forum...people need to mind their business when it comes to this? Wow. Nah.
Why concern yourself with things that have zero effect on your own life? Things you have zero ability to change?
Re: Parents who are obsessed with hockey
Are the parents obsessed ? Could it be the fact the kid loves to try new skill sessions. Loves being on the ice. Maybe the kid doesn’t like other sports. Maybe the kid is obsessed and the parents are just supporting their child’s love for the sport.
