The mall rink sucks, blinded by the sun half the day but good tournament. Too bad the Toronto teams turned it into a “for-profit” business. They don’t have a chance against Boston this year. Too many good kids on the sidelines.

People, you don't get it. It is not about winning the Brick, it is about being at the Brick and having the title as a 'Brick' Kid. You have a chance to have your kid as the best minor hockey player on the Planet. Not all of us can say that anytime in our lives but your kid will have this distinction. As a result, so much confidence, leadership, growth happens that will have them a step above the rest for several years to come.

Sure, but what about the kids that don’t actually have the talent to back up being a “Brick Kid”. No one is going to give two shits about that title unless there is real talent there when it comes down to it. The problem with this tournament is a lot of kids that go actually aren’t all that elite.

There are very very few kids in the lower talent level that are at the Brick. The process has weeded these kids out and 98% are 'Elite' and will remain 'Elite'. This is what you are missing, once you get your kid to this level, it is very hard to be knocked off the mountain. Yes, there will be an example of a kid not growing, losing their competitive edge, etc .. however, this is very rare.

You missed the point entirely. They’re not talking about the HB’s or SR’s of the Brick world. Yeah, those kids will probably stay elite. It’s about the kids whose dads schemed their way there who will be gone by the time hockey matters. Just cause you get to go to the Brick doesn’t mean you’re set for life and if you tell your kid that you’re setting them up for disaster. Let’s circle back to this convo in a few years and see which “elite brick kids” are still here.

Been hearing the same jealous comments many years now. Go check team Canada and team USA how many kids played brick.The numbers are actually surprising and cool.Meaning the best stay good for many years if hockey works
Out or not.Great experience boys will remember that forever not just about the hockey.

Ya way back then it was probably all selected based on actual talent and who deserves to be there. Now adays it doesn’t matter because they take kids for stupid reasons unrelated to talent. Like who’s friends with who, who will pay more, who will continue to line pockets moving forward and kids of people who are employed by the brick teams or related to the coach. These kids aren’t elite now and won’t be elite then. Just getting a free pass and think there so cool being there going to the brick.
