Leafs Prospect Check-In: Time for some honest talk
This recent OHL check-in on Leafs prospects has me thinking… are we overhyping some of these guys? Easton Cowan’s point streak is impressive, sure, but is he truly progressing? His production is down, and the eye test doesn't scream top-6 forward. Is it time to temper expectations, or are we just being impatient?
Ben Danford is another interesting case. His offensive contributions seem improved, but the points aren’t there. Is his usage holding him back, or is something else at play? Could his defensive responsibilities be stifling his offensive potential? How much stock should we put in limited tracking data?
Then there's Sam McCue, putting up numbers after a trade to Flint. Is this a legitimate breakout, or simply a product of increased opportunity? Can he translate this production to the next level, or are we looking at a career AHLer?
