Yes and they all should be playing AAA. Anyone who isn’t bought their way onto the school team.
SAC is at least 70% Asian for some reason.

For $33,000 a year, I'll take 2 please!
I'm looking to move my kid to either St. Mikes, UCC or SAC next year for the hockey program. What are the pro's/cons of each?
St. Michael’s College School (SMCS)
Pros:
Rich Hockey Tradition: SMCS has produced over 180 NHL alumni, including Hall of Famers like Tim Horton, Frank Mahovlich, and Dave Keon .
Competitive Hockey Program: The Majors play a 50+ game schedule with over 75 on-ice practices annually, offering a rigorous development environment .
Historic Arena: The 1,600-seat St. Michael’s College School Arena provides a dedicated and intimate setting for games and practices .
Strong Academic Foundation: The school maintains high academic standards, with a significant percentage of students achieving honor roll status .

Cons:
Urban Setting: Located in downtown Toronto, the school may be less convenient for families preferring a more rural or suburban environment.
Limited Boarding Options: As a day school, it may not offer the same boarding experience as other institutions.

Upper Canada College (UCC)
Pros:
Elite Facilities: UCC boasts professional-caliber theatres, a new design lab, airy art rooms, a fully-equipped training and workout room, two gyms, a twin-pad arena, tennis courts, and several playing fields .
Strong Academic Reputation: The school offers a world-class educational program, preparing students for post-secondary education and beyond.
Notable Alumni: UCC has produced athletes like Brian Conacher and Colin Greening, who have made significant impacts in their respective sports .
Elite Level Hockey
Academic Kids

Cons:
High Tuition Costs: As a private institution, UCC's tuition fees may be higher than some other prep schools.
Competitive Admission: The school has a selective admissions process, which may be challenging for some applicants.

St. Andrew’s College (SAC)
Pros:
Championship Program: SAC's hockey team clinched their first Prep Hockey Conference (PHC) Championship in 2025, defeating Northwood School 5-1 in the final .
Balanced Development: The program emphasizes both athletic and academic growth, fostering well-rounded student-athletes.
Community and Tradition: SAC offers a close-knit community with a strong tradition in sports and academics.

Cons:
Smaller Scale: Compared to SMCS and UCC, SAC may offer fewer resources and facilities.
Less Urban Exposure: Located in a smaller town, SAC may provide fewer opportunities for exposure to major metropolitan events and networks.
Isnt AI great? SAC is by far the superior option if you can make it work financially.
What does SAC cost?
SAC Hockey: Hockey program is $6k if you’re not on scholarship. Depends what year your son plays varsity, trip to Europe adds another $5k. Also, don’t be fooled, you just don’t show up and play SAC Varsity. Coach Manning is a master recruiter and takes the best available. This crap that my son has been there since grade 5, is crap. My son was recruited and entered at grade 11.

SAC tuition: if not on scholarship or financial aid. $50k for day students, 75-80k for boarders. Plus books, meal plan, miscellaneous.

Wish you all the best.
