I would reach out now.

But I think coaches are tight lipped about goalie plans for next season as it may be obvious if someone is being cut.

My son who's a 2010 A goalie currently is looking for a GTHL west team for the 2025/26 season and I'm wondering when I should start reaching out to coaches about openings. We might be open to playing a year up if the opportunity is right as well.
