I’ve witnessed a problem family getting the boot before and it’s sad for the kid but I understand the coaches decision, he has the entire team to think about. The family can always find another team.

Seeing the same, same restrictions as before just enforced by the center itself and no more paperwork. All the one's I've seen are honoring right of choice, so I'm with the other poster.. sounds like a problem family getting the boot.

Lots of OMHA centers are straight up saying no to outside players. They are only open in the sense there is no OHF rules blocking it, the power sits with each individual organization to decide. Many townships are requiring local players on the teams or they will charge more for ice or even take away the prime ice time from the organizations.

Probably a non issue for Toronto areas, Oakville's been running everywhere trying to bring every kid in. I know southern Ontario centers are being very restrictive still (below AAA\AA)

I was given Right of Choice to pick one of 4 centers years ago and have stayed with that center ever since since you can't change RoC. The center chosen is technically outside my tax region although it's by far the closet arena/center to my home. Organization posted a notice that no non resident players will be allowed moving forward in their programs and I have been told I can't stay.
