You only need an agent if you are going to sign a legal contract. SO signing with an OHL team. Agents dont charge, they take a percentage of your salary.

Advisors - you pay. They "suggest" next steps or help you navigate choices.

Not true
Good kids get overlooked all the time- many more shit kids have daddy’s who buy agents and opportunities.
Spend every penny you can afford.
Look at the draft list - some of the worst kids in the league on it. Money talks.
There is no doubt that money contributes to a lot of horrible picks. But lets be honest, the picks that matter are made based on the kids skills. If your kid isn't on somebodies radar that maybe its not the scumbad dad who took it with his wallet
Wrong
First 3 rounds are legit - everything else is for sale.
Deserving kids with parents who are poor or not in the know get their spots taken by scumbag dads for their garbage kids the majority if the time.
If your kid is as bright as you, there is a reason he isn't on peoples radar, or you are being asked to pay a hefty price to represent them! What was said was exactly what you said, except you think your kid is being overlooked because of money. If your kid was goog enough, he would be noticed for his talent and would probably to in 1 of the first 3 rounds. The rese dont really matter and only the odd kid works hard being a bottom pick and make an impact eventually.

Usually kids are asked by more than one agency.

Newport
Wasserman
CAA
Lots of smaller ones with good reputations

You don't pay an agent Give them a commission based on the revenue they bring you

I'll tell you why, because some people dont have agents calling them and they feel dropping money to somebody will help them out. Why not take that money and put it to some training? If they are taking your money now, they dont care what you do later on, thats just a bonus to them. Your monthly donation pays for their house and car
I got my own house, car, bills, kid’s school to pay for so why would I pay an agent too? I also need to live, go on vacation, buy clothes, hockey equipment for my kid and I need to eat, my grocery bill is $700 a day week with all the protein and homo milk I buy.
