Paying Agents
Paying Agents
Looking for advice of what parents of kids that have agents do for them in terms of paying or compensating them. My sons agent (like all good agents) doesn’t charge or expect to get compensated until a pro contract is in place. However that’s a long ways away! In the meantime I feel like I should send him a few bucks or an Amazon gift card or something to show our appreciation for all his unpaid efforts. I plan to regardless but has anyone else done this and if so what would be an appropriate amount? $500? Thanks.

They have a decent size lawsuit on their hands currently on their hands.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Feb 15, 2024 11:30 am Anybody with Newport? or heard anything good/bad? Some big names with them so the assumption would be they are reputble, but are they going to have a huge pool of players and hope for the best?

Re: Paying Agents
Why would anybody pay an agent before earning a penny at the next level?
Re: Paying Agents
I'll tell you why, because some people dont have agents calling them and they feel dropping money to somebody will help them out. Why not take that money and put it to some training? If they are taking your money now, they dont care what you do later on, thats just a bonus to them. Re: Paying Agents
I got my own house, car, bills, kid’s school to pay for so why would I pay an agent too? I also need to live, go on vacation, buy clothes, hockey equipment for my kid and I need to eat, my grocery bill is $700 a day week with all the protein and homo milk I buy.Guest wrote: ↑Tue May 20, 2025 12:17 pmI'll tell you why, because some people dont have agents calling them and they feel dropping money to somebody will help them out.
