This is incredible lol. I couldn't agree more. It's a marathon not a U8 sprintGuest wrote: ↑Fri Feb 10, 2023 2:36 pmI can't wait till 90% of you are on the AA / A thread in 2/3 years, when your kids lose interest and you are sad they won't live out your dream for you. Happy Monday morning
Hoping to get some Info around here since the hockey world is to tight lipped with shit. Playing tier 2 now and want to make the jump to tier 1, Does anyone know whos having skates? I looked at the rogue stuff and it makes no sense for the 2015 loop really so I want to avoid that.
Anything?

Re: 2015 AAA
Call the head coaches of each team and see what they are doing. Vaughan Red, Downsview, Goulding Park I think would be your best bet. Goulding has two teams and with one splitting up there might be another teamGuest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 8:58 am Happy Monday morning

Re: 2015 AAA
looking at the schedule it sucks with tournaments spread out very far apart and having to get hotels. Plus NYHL teams will play exhibition games is the sense I get against all these rogue teams anyways. Outside of the original team (young kings) the rest will be watered down 100%%Guest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 9:47 amwhy does the rogue stuff not make sense. u want ur kids to play sh*t hockey next year or developGuest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 8:58 am Happy Monday morning

Re: 2015 AAA
Just some wisdom for your little Johnny's.
60%. Of your kids will either drop down or quit hockey in the next 3 to 5 years.
If your kid is not getting ice time rethink and put him in the right level. If you are bouncing from team to team, stop collecting coloured helmets and drop him down to the right level.
If your kid is solid, no need to spend extra $$$ on skills sessions. He either "has it or he doesn't.
Remember it's a marathon not a sprint. Hockey burn out is real.

Sort of right, sort of less right. Hockey burn out is real is 100% right. Over half the kids that are "stars" at this age won't be playing competitive hockey by Bantam. Some because they just ended up not being that good, but even more because they find other interests or are sick of trying to live up to their parent's expectations.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 11:15 am

I don't see any issue with spending $$$ on skills sessions, but do think it's important to give the kids a break in the summer. My guy plays soccer and baseball in the spring/summer. Is he "elite" today - no. Will he fall behind over the spring/summer and have his hockey career ruined at age 7 because he played other sports, of course not. Will he make The Brick, be the best kid in Minor Atom - doubtful, but then again, who cares. If your own goals are taking priority over what your kids want to do then keep pushing them to skate 7 days a week until they eventually tell you to pound sand
Re: 2015 AAA
Anyone have a sense of who coaches will be for 2015 AAA teams. See a lot of noise about what teams are going where, but we all know that whole teams aren't moving. Are coaches figured out yet?
Re: 2015 AAA
You will see core teams next year remain in tact for AAA by core I mean 6/7 kids for sure. 2015 is pretty deep for their age in how many kids can at least skate fairly well with and without the puck.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 2:42 pm Anyone have a sense of who coaches will be for 2015 AAA teams. Teams and orgs were mentioned a few pages back I think.
